Jan and Karin.
Hi, we are Jan and Karin from the Netherlands. After years of dreaming, our wish has come true: our own apartment on the enchanting Lago Maggiore. For more than thirty years Italy has felt like our second home, a country where food, nature, culture and the art of living come together effortlessly.
Lago Maggiore has something magical for us. The combination of the glittering lake, imposing mountains, charming villages and the relaxed Italian way of life moves us time and again.
Our favourite places are the Borromean Islands, Stresa, Verbania and the Mottarone. In spring, summer and autumn we love the beautiful walks with breathtaking views, while winter invites you to ski in the mountains.
A stroll along the Lungolago of Stresa, by the water and through the lovely park, is special every single time. Settling afterwards on a sunny terrace with good food and a fine Italian wine completes the picture.
We love an active life, and we enjoy nature, culinary evenings and the real Italian feeling.
Per noi, la vita è bella.
A Liberty villa from 1929.
The elegant house breathes calm and style. You feel the history as you step through the old brown door: concrete stairs, granite floors and pastel-coloured tiles.
The facade combines concrete, decorative plasterwork and ceramic tiles with beautiful motifs. These motifs, the sgraffito friezes, sit as decoration just beneath the eaves.
The house has three floors; we occupy the second. In 2024 the interior was renovated, with respect for its classical beauty.
A sunny living room with a fireplace.
An open space with a large dining table, a lounge sofa and a fireplace. Two double doors lead onto the terrace overlooking the lake. In the evening you close them and inside becomes warm and quiet.
The floor is dark hardwood, the walls are white. High ceilings from the 1929 Liberty build give the space air.

A kitchen to really cook in.
An Italian design island, professional extractor hood, dishwasher, gas hob, a large fridge with freezer and a coffee machine. Two double doors onto the sunny terrace with a view over the lake.
Everything you need for a long lunch is here: from milk frother and toaster to kettle. With the region's markets a short drive away, grocery shopping becomes part of the holiday.
Sleeping under the rooftops of a historic villa.
One bedroom, white walls, dark hardwood. Windows that open wide. A double bed, a walk-in closet and the en-suite bathroom right next to it.
For an extra pair there are two luxury poufs that serve as a sleeping spot. This makes the apartment suitable for up to four people. In the morning, an espresso or cappuccino on the terrace, that is la dolce vita.

Two luxurious, modern bathrooms.
The en-suite by the bedroom has a walk-in shower, two basins, a toilet and a bidet. The second bathroom is off the hallway and has a large bathtub, a large mirror and its own basin.
Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. A washing machine and iron are ready for longer stays.
